Broadcast I March 2 2017

Glossy drama set for world premiere

Sky Vision thriller Riviera and Fuji Creative Corporation’s Japanese drama Crisis are among the world premiere screenings slated for MipTV.

Riviera will screen at the Palais des Festivals’ Grand Auditorium on 3 April at 6.30pm while Crisis will debut on 4 April at 11.45am. The Cannes market runs from 3 to 6 April.

The Côte d’Azur-set thriller – produced by Archery Pictures and Primo Productions – will air this year on Sky Atlantic in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria. The drama follows a Midwestern woman’s (Julia Stiles) journey to uncover the circumstances behind her billionaire art collector husband’s death.

Stiles will be in Cannes with co-stars Lena Olin, Adrian Lester and Dimitri Leonidas.

Elsewhere, Kansai TV’s Crisis will feature as the market’s first Asian world premiere screening.

Crisis follows two members of Japan’s National Police Agency Security Bureau, played by two of the country’s best-known actors, Hidetoshi Nishijima and Shun Oguri. As political ambitions get in the way of national security, the agents step in to tackle a domestic crisis.

The series is distributed internationally by Fuji Creative Corporation, the international distribution arm of Fuji Television Network.

Nishijima and executive producers Takahiro Kasagi and Takashi Hagihara will be in attendance.
